PAN-SEARED STRIP STEAK WITH SALSA VERDE

Please wash all produce prior to cooking. 

Ingredients:

Provided:

  • Strip steak
  • 4 ounces green beans
  • 1/3 cup Italian parsley
  • 2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon minced shallot
  • 1 tablespoon capers

Needed:

  • Sea Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Season steak with salt and pepper. 
  2. In a small skillet, heat about 2 tablespoons of oil over medium high. 
  3. Place steak in skillet and cook until well browned, 2-4 minutes each side depending on preference. Let sit for a few minutes once finished. 
  4. Meanwhile, in a small sauce pan, bring about one inch of water to a boil. 
  5. Trim the ends of the beans, and add to the saucepan. Cover and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. 
  6. Mince about 1 tablespoon of shallot. Here's a video showing how to mince a shallot. 
  7. Chop capers and parsley. Here's a video showing how to chop parsley
  8. In a small bowl, mix together parsley, capers, shallot, vinegar, mustard and 1 tablespoon of water. Season with salt and pepper. 
  9. Drain the beans and plate the steak, beans and salsa verde. Enjoy!
